Halo 2 (2004)

Funnily enough, I have only just finished writing the review for Halo: Combat Evolved in the last few minutes. I don’t know when they’re going out, but I figured I’d mention it because it’s an insight to the way that I operate (for better, or for worse) and it’s always handy to have such things. The better you understand me as a person, the better you understand where I’m coming from when I write an opinion. Very helpful.

Halo: Combat Evolved (2001)

You might recall that a while back, I reviewed Halo: Reach. At the time, I had intended to go through the series, but that sort of fell by the wayside a bit. Can’t remember why, exactly, but life has a habit of being all funky sometimes so I would assume that happened. At any rate, I’ve been playing through the series again for my own personal entertainment and it struck me that I could just knock out a review for each of these for when I’ve got a severe lack of motivation to go through the games list that I’ve put together and am “meant” to be doing. Odds are, they won’t end up being published til 2024 and probably with the Reach review being re-shared as a flashback piece, but we’ll see. I like to have one in the bag sometimes, and if I do these, well, I’ll have about five in the bag.

Flashback: Halo: Reach (2010)

We continue our look at the chronologically ordered Halo series with Halo: Reach. I first wrote about it back in 2021 and had intended, then, to cover the whole series. I mention this, funnily enough, in next week’s review, and I probably mentioned it in last weeks review, which I’ve not yet written. This has all been a bit out of order, really. And in advance. At any rate, here is my original, almost unedited review of Halo: Reach. Enjoy.

The Last Of Us Part I (2022/2023)

Not often that I have to make two distinctions in the opening paragraph, but here goes. I never played the original version of The Last Of Us, from 2013, but I have played the remastering that they did in 2022, but the version I played was for Windows which wasn’t released until 2023. Confused? You shouldn’t be, but I don’t blame you. All that really matter is that this is a review for the remastering of the first game. Let’s get on with it.

The Best UK Number One Of… 1976

It’s that time again, where I take a look at the UK Number Ones from a particular year. This month, the year is 1976, and let me tell you, we’re getting to the point where I generally know the songs. In fact, I can remember nine of the sixteen tracks from today’s list, off the top of my head, and that doesn’t include the one that I know I’ve definitely written about but just can’t remember how it goes. Shall we do this? Let’s do this!

Dying Light (2015)

This is one of those times where I’ve decided to go ahead and play something for my own benefit, and then opted to write a review after. The last time I did that, it was for most of the Halo series though as I’ve yet to decide when I am publishing that or this, this could well be the first of such reviews you end up reading. Though of course, statistically speaking, no-one’s reading this anyway.

Billy Joel – Turn The Lights Back On

Oh my, a music review? That’s not normal, is it? Not this year, at least. It’s been games all the way down. No, I heard that this had come out and thought, sod it, let’s do a music review!
