Gas Station Simulator (2021)

What was that, eight, nine week of Halo reviews? Boy, am I glad I wrote them last year over the course of like a week or two. Saved me no end of time this year, especially with my reduced writing schedule. I’m actually doing this one a couple months in advance too, since I’m not rushing to get something out each week now (I am, after all, a very busy man these days!). So yes, today, Gas Station Simulator.

The Best UK Number One Of… 1978

Would you believe me if I told you that I wrote all of this – bar the Christmas #1 opinion, which I wrote a while back – yesterday? You should. You absolutely should. That’s helped, in part, by the serious lack of nonsense involved in this preamble.

Halo: Spartan Strike (2014)

Oh yes, there’s more Halo games out there. Even after this one, there’s one more I’ve yet to review and given that it’s the first chronologically, I suppose I ought to get that done before I even consider when’s best to post any of these. In the words of Winnie The Pooh, “oh bother”.

Halo: Spartan Assault (2013)

This is a special occasion. This is the first Halo game I’ve reviewed without completing it, and only because realistically, I already know exactly how the rest of the game is going to play out having managed approximately 30% of it over the course of 45 minutes. Yeah. Let that sink in for a moment.

The Best UK Number One Of… 1977

I’ve left this one rather late again, before getting it started. Still, if there’s anyone who can crack out eighteen short music reviews with the vaguest semblance of logic behind them, I’m sure it’s me!

Halo 3 (2007)

Well, you wouldn’t know it because I schedule these in advance, and like the last two games, so far in advance I don’t actually know when they’ll go out… But I’ve done all three of the original Halo trilogy in the space of a weekend from my perspective. It’s important to get them cranked out while the others are fresh in your mind, especially if there’s going to be comparison.

Halo 2 (2004)

Funnily enough, I have only just finished writing the review for Halo: Combat Evolved in the last few minutes. I don’t know when they’re going out, but I figured I’d mention it because it’s an insight to the way that I operate (for better, or for worse) and it’s always handy to have such things. The better you understand me as a person, the better you understand where I’m coming from when I write an opinion. Very helpful.

Halo: Combat Evolved (2001)

You might recall that a while back, I reviewed Halo: Reach. At the time, I had intended to go through the series, but that sort of fell by the wayside a bit. Can’t remember why, exactly, but life has a habit of being all funky sometimes so I would assume that happened. At any rate, I’ve been playing through the series again for my own personal entertainment and it struck me that I could just knock out a review for each of these for when I’ve got a severe lack of motivation to go through the games list that I’ve put together and am “meant” to be doing. Odds are, they won’t end up being published til 2024 and probably with the Reach review being re-shared as a flashback piece, but we’ll see. I like to have one in the bag sometimes, and if I do these, well, I’ll have about five in the bag.
