Spare: (Prince Harry, 2023)

I don’t know if you noticed but Prince Harry released his autobiography a few days ago and it’s sold really very well. You may have also noticed the tedious old bores that comprise the establishment have been shitting blood over it while others have been more complimentary. So, is Spare the story of a whiny and entitled brat desperate for attention or a man keen to have his story heard after being unable to do so for so long?

Ghosts (2019-Present)

Something that’s becoming something of a Christmas tradition for me is binge-watching new shows in the days following Christmas. I suspect it has something to do with depression. I just feel a desire to do something festive or special and, frankly, the best I can come up with is to binge-watch a new show that’s fairly light and fun. This year, my target was BBC’s Ghosts, a show I’d long harbored misgivings about, but was I right to do so?

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (2022)

Well, it’s time for me to dust off my laptop and rattle off another review. Luckily for me, the new Pokemon game was released only a few months ago. Unfortunately for me, I’ve spent much of my time since it came out having an internal struggle over whether it’s a massive step in the right direction or yet another depressing instance of Gamefreak shitting out any old thing because they can. Have I finally reached a conclusion? To be perfectly honest with you, I have no idea, let’s find out together!

My Top Ten Episodes Of Tales Of The Unexpected (1979-1988)

Well, that time has come once more. As is customary, now that I’ve taken a look at Tales of The Unexpected proper, it’s time to dive into the ten episodes I thought stood out above all others. If you’re a regular reader then you’re well aware by this point that I pay no deference to spoilers. I find it pretty darn tricky to talk about why I liked something without talking about it in great detail, and this almost always includes spoilers. Now, due to the fact Tales of The Unexpected is such a twist-heavy series I can see the spoilers below being somewhat controversial, so take this as a warning. Secondly, despite being a series I greatly enjoy there’s not always a massive amount to discuss, so expect this list to be shorter than others I’ve done. Thirdly, and finally, please bear in mind that this list is totally subjective and based solely on my own preferences and may not reflect your own views. Now that we’ve gone through the terms and conditions of this post, let’s get on with it. Here are my top ten favourite episodes of Tales of the Unexpected.

Tales of The Unexpected (1979-1988)

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve rattled one of these off, hasn’t it? I’ve bee preoccupied with other things as of late, bigger projects that demand more time but rest assured that our clunky little site will still get some of my richly deserved attention from time to time. Now, because we’re now in the spoopy Halloween season it has been decreed by powers beyond my understanding or comprehension that our posts this month will be in keeping with the tone of the season. With that in mind, I’ve opted to do a couple of posts on a series I’ve been longing to talk about since I finished binge watching it yesterday; the ostensibly quite unsettling Tales of the Unexpected (1979-1988)

I have a YouTube channel!

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and you might’ve noticed my work rate has slowed considerably. There is a reason for this. Last Christmas I did a spotlight series on Christmas soap moments and loved it so much I figured it might be a good idea to take it a bit further. The end result is Soap Study, a youtube channel that analysis and critiques soap moments and storylines, as well as some stuff from behind the scenes. It’s an exciting time creatively for me and I thought I’d share it with you all here. So far I’ve only done two videos, an introduction to the channel and a look at how tension is used in Eastender’s Christmas 2007, but I plan to have another video up every month. If you like my stuff on here then you’ll probably like the videos I’m making, and any support you can give will be hugely appreciated.

I won’t be leaving the site though, I still have things I want to do here, most notably the completion of the Star Trek reviews, but I hope to contribute on an admittedly fairly irregular basis. So yeah, check out the channel and subscribe for more, thanks!

My Top Ten Episodes Of Star Trek: Voyager (1995-2001)

Oh God, here we go again. This time it’s Voyager’s time in the sun. I’ll be honest, I kinda struggled with this one. As far as I’m concerned, Voyager doesn’t really have many amazing episodes so it was a challenge to put a top ten list together. What’s interesting is that I don’t care for most of the fan-favorite episodes like Scorpion (S3E26/S4E1) and Year of Hell (S4E8/9)in fact a lot of these episodes don’t really come up on other best of Voyager posts and lists. I’ve mentioned before how much of a long slog writing these lists is, much as I enjoy doing it, but if Voyager can plow on through the Delta Quadrant for seven years, then I can do this. Right, let’s crack on.

Star Trek: Voyager (1995-2001)

Well, another few months have passed and I’ve finished yet another Star Trek series. Seems to me that, by most approximations anyway, Star Trek: Voyager marks the beginning of the end for the golden age of Star Trek. Is this a fair assessment? Well…

Spotlight: Tuvix (Star Trek: Voyager, S2E24)

Well, it’s been some time since I’ve written anything hasn’t it? Sorry for that but I’ve had a fair few projects on the go and it seems likely that I’ll be cutting down my contributions quite drastically in the near future. Worry not though because I’m still working my way through the Star Trek series’ and am getting close to finishing Voyager. One episode in particular has stuck out to me and I figured I’d do a little spotlight on it. It’s well worth doing as well, because this might well be one of the most controversial episode in all of Star Trek.

Pokemon Rom-Hack: Four Recommendations

Over the last few months, I’ve gotten really big into Pokemon Rom hacks. I’ve discussed these before, most notably my review of Pokemon Crystal clear, but wanted to touch on a few more, my personal recommendations if you will. This won’t be a particularly long or detailed list but it should be enough to give you some suggestions.
